Hi, I’m John ‘Aloha’!

I originally studied Hawaiian massage under two Master teachers and have perfected the art of Aloha over 25 years of practicing and teaching many other therapists the Aloha way.

Over this time I gained my Diplomas in both Remedial, and Chinese massage as well as; Certificates of Shiatsu, Swedish and Deep Tissue massage. I then focused on furthering these abilities for training people; by having completed a Cert IV in Assessment & Training as well as a Diploma of Coaching, Leadership and Mentoring.

Along with my private clinics, I have also practiced on retreats at Camp Eden and The Golden Door health programs, as well as the renowned hotels; the Sheraton, Marriott and Palazzo Versace on the Gold coast, just to name a few.

Driven by a passion to share my love of massage, I established the Aloha Tribe to help create a community of Massage Therapists to ‘Make a Difference’ in the world! In my spare time, I love Brazilian Zouk partner dancing; ( because it’s so flowing, just – like Aloha Massage is!). Swimming, exercise, morning coffee’s and sweet treats are just some of my favourite things. I am lucky to call Byron Bay on the North Coast of NSW, Australia home.

What it’s like to work with John and his purpose!

John lives his calling and can be relied upon to move and shake others to step into their own innocence of not knowing. You can see this as you witness him deliver the essence of Aloha Massage.

John is a believer of going over the essentials again and again, with a fresh perspective and consciousness, while always being open to discovering new horizons and areas of interest.

John does not rest on his knowledge but is the kind of teacher everyone should want to learn from. He can teach people at any level with such enthusiasm, as if he had just learned it himself a month ago. This is the hallmark of a master!

Integral to the core for keeping alive the simplicity and purity of spreading his passion for Aloha; is the essence of his spiritual path.

Many of John’s qualities come from the deep intensive training with the shamanic teachers he has learnt from.

Being qualified in Assessment and Workplace Training; Diploma of Coaching, Leadership and Mentoring, combined with Counselling and Communication Certificates, John has the skills to give professional training to students.

John’s practical experience and innate knowledge of the profound healing benefits Aloha massage has on your body, mind and spirit is what drives John to teach Aloha exactly the way he personally gives ‘Aloha’: with direction from ‘spirit’.

John established the Aloha Tribe to create a community of Massage Therapists to continue this path by ‘Making a Difference’ in the world!

I had never heard of ‘Aloha’ massage but when I read the ad a light came on and said to myself - “you must learn this”, so I rang John straight away. Not usually something I would do, but I’m so glad I did! I struggled with my feelings of inadequacy and John was there ready with encouragement. I have done a few massage courses and I have to say this one is by far the best; because of the live-in situation and the intense training the massage becomes embodied very quickly. ‘Aloha’ massage is so much more than something you do, it’s a way of being. Every time you work on someone you receive the gift of healing for yourself. and the joy of watching people alight from your table, lit-up and looking years younger. The food is amazing and I really got the importance of diet and it’s impact on me. The music was interesting and there were tunes to concentrate and flow with. One of the most amazing Retreats I’ve attended; my personal shifts and healing during the course have been truly transformational - Thank you!
